Innovative measures ensuring integrity of the entire supply chain or transport corridorItem type:Publication, research article[2015][S4][T003][9]; Journal of shipping and ocean engineering (ISOE), 2015, vol. 5, no. 5, p. 280-288The EWTC (East-West Transport Corridor) in the Southern part of the Baltic Sea Region includes more effective testing area of new business models for collaborative logistics flows. Since the EWTC is a corridor requiring transport mode interchanges due to crossing the Baltic Sea, development of intermodal transport solutions making different transport modes fully integrated along the corridor is a key issue for the EWTC. To meet an increased global transport demand, ports and intermodal terminals need to make sure that their facilities are prepared for growth. Thus, for ports in the EWTC it is important to offer the services necessary for handling the maritime freight services (container ships, RoRo ships, railway ferries) demanded by transporters and transport buyers. IT services are needed to support transportation activities along the corridor. This is especially important for the EWTC due to its physical nature, interchange points, multi-language and cross boarder interaction. Information on a constantly updated traffic situation and interchange status, tracking of goods, booking and confirmation services, intelligent truck parking and services opening faster border crossing routes would ensure more efficient transportation and handling thereof. It is expected that the outcomes of the recently completed eMAR project will help to develop a modern Klaipeda Seaport community system as well as effective management architecture along the EWTC based on the CSW (Corridor Single Window) approach.
1 Reprocessing of buildings’ demolition waste and utilization for the manufacturing of new productsItem type:Publication, research article[2012][S4][T008]; ; Journal of Civil Engineering and Architecture, 2012, vol. 6, no. 9, p. 1230-1239Concrete is multicomponent composite material, consisting of coarse aggregate, fine aggregate, cement and water. Natural aggregates, as well as aggregates obtained after the reprocessing of buildings’ demolition waste, can be used as coarse and fine aggregates. Characteristics of the hardened concrete depend on the raw materials, used for the preparation of concrete mixture, and their characteristics. The objective of the research is to analyse the sources of demolition waste, to describe the reprocessing technology of concrete waste, to investigate the production of the aggregate from the concrete waste, to analyse the main properties of these aggregates — particles’ density, bulk density, granulometric composition, hollowness and other properties, as well as to compare the obtained results with the requirements applicable to the aggregates based on natural materials.
1 Automated design and visualization system of a house foundation from blocksItem type:Publication, research article[2010][S4][T007]Journal of Civil Engineering and Architecture, 2010, vol. 4, no. 9, p. 26-31This article analyzes creation methods of automated design system, presents design system of a house foundation from blocks. The creation methods of automated design system of a house foundation from blocks are discovered with Unified Modeling Language. Analyzed ohjeels-classes: block, specification, model. Graphical system can design foundation, form specification of objects and create 3D model of house foundation. There are several types and different dimensions of concrete blocks. The program optimally arranges selected blocks so that monolithic parts will be minimal volume. Program selects a house foundation blocks from database by using ActiveX Data Objects technology, which by programming method connects drawing and database. Drawing's graphical objects have additional data from which exchange of data between graphical system and database is executed. Visualization system and example of house foundation from blocks project with specifications is presented. Creation problems of automated design system are discussed and conclusions are made.
