The paper deals with the process of binding of two nucleotides, which is considered part of a more complex process, such as the transfer of telomerase to the telomere region of chromosomes during cell division. The binding process is evaluated using the originally developed attraction-related energy dissipation mechanism. Energy dissipation has also been observed using a viscous damping model. Viscous damping is considered to obtain dissipative oscillations during the interaction of nucleotides, which can be part of the binding process. The work presents the dynamics of nucleotides, indicating the values of force, distance, velocity for a certain period of time.

This paper analyses the dynamic behaviour of centrifugal milk separator's bearing-rotor system equipped with vibration absorbers. It is shown that rotational milk motion inside the separator causes a centrifugal force that increases dynamic unbalance of the rotor and has a negative effect on performance of the bearings. Mathematical simulation of bearing-rotor system has shown that the rotor rotates at frequency that is outside the resonant frequency region and the amplitude resonances are associated with the bearings and the components of step-up gear. Investigations of vibration transmissibility of vibration damping system have shown that the resonant frequencies are outside the rotor resonance interval and damping system suppresses the effect of separator with milk on rotor bearings and housing. However, it distorts results of diagnostic measurements. Experimental studies confirmed the last statement and showed that results of indirect (through the housing) vibration measurements cannot be used to diagnose the state of damped bearing-rotor system.

The paper presents a comparison of the novel strain compliance concept, proposed for predicting the crack spacing of reinforced concrete structures with neural network predictions. The concept represents an alternative way to accurately analyze the cracking behavior of reinforced concrete elements while maintaining compatibility of deformation behavior and ensuring mechanical soundness. A multiple run and surrogate data based approach was adopted to train and calibrate an artificial neural network for primary crack spacing prediction. The findings substantiate the experimental primary crack spacing data and reveal the performance of the strain compliance approach to be similar to the trained neural network.

A numerical study of the interaction of the virus with the cell is presented. The cell was selected for human circulatory endothelium, while the virus was selected close to SARS-CoV-2. The environment in which the virus interacts is close to the blood. A numerical experiment of the interaction was carried out using the DEM. The result is an interaction process showing a change in force, displacement, velocity over time. Under various initial conditions, the analysis examines the influence of spikes and drag forces for the interaction of the virus with the cell.

The interaction of the virus with the alveoli cell is examined, where the virus enters the lungs through the human airways after human inhalation. The virus selected was close to SARS-CoV-2. The numerical experiment was performed using the discrete element method. The results show the change in force, velocity, and displacement over time. The model evaluates the interaction of the capsid and spikes with the alveoli cell surface. The initial parameters, such as initial velocity, size, and data required to describe the interaction, were selected based on known physical experiments. The mechanism of energy dissipation associated with adhesion is considered.
