    In the urban area, the sidewalk used for cycling and electrical kick-scooters is usually presented in the wide range from asphalt to brick pavements. The current research work is based on the establishing of the vertical vibration and frequency range transferred from driving e-scooters on different type of pavements to the rider. The most used type of the electrical kick-scooter in sharing application without wheels suspension and with pneumatic tire with recommended inflation pressure 3.4 bar (50 psi) is under research. The vibration analysis is performed by measuring the vibration level and performing an additional Fourier Transform spectrum analysis. Measurements were done using a t-sample measurement design and based on a one-sample statistical method for estimating uncertainty in repeated measurements of data processing. In the research, the mechanical impedance of the driver is taken into consideration, allowing for an estimation of the overall driver's comfort. The obtained results allow to define the critical risk of vertical vibration frequency transferred to the human during driving the electrical kick scooter in an urban area on the different pavements, which can help in re-thinking the road infrastructure development for micro-mobility.

    Autonomous vehicles is a trending research topic which involves a number of different problems. This research work considers the problem of path planning, while taking into account specific and important traffic scenario – determination of the path in order to perform obstacle avoidance during cornering. In this research work, a novel hybrid path planning approach which consists from two classical planning approaches – the Bezier curves and the Rapidly-exploring random trees, is proposed and experimentally tested. The entire development process of the hybrid path planning approach is de-scribed. The experimental testing of the proposed approach was performed while using an actual prototype of the autonomous vehicle. During the ex-perimental testing, different positions of the obstacle, different radius of the corner arc and different angles of the corner arc were considered. Approximately 200 different scenarios were considered and experimentally tested. The results of the experimental testing showed that the general performance of the proposed hybrid path planner is reliable – the planned paths are safe, continuous, and technically feasible.

    The rapid integration of autonomous systems into industries such as transportation, logistics, and manufacturing necessitates engineers who are proficient in energy-efficient and secure system design. This paper presents an educational initiative under the Nordplus Higher Education Program, aimed at equipping future engineers in the Nordic and Baltic regions with advanced knowledge and practical skills in secure and energy-efficient autonomous systems. Through a collaborative network of five universities - Riga Technical University (Latvia), Kaunas University of Technology, Vilnius Gediminas Technical University (both from Lithuania), Tallinn University of Technology (Estonia), and Tampere University (Finland) - the project fosters academic activities, such as mobility, knowledge exchange, and hands-on training. The paper discusses the project's structure, learning ecosystem, curriculum development, industry collaborations, mobility programs, and anticipated outcomes, highlighting its role in bridging theoretical knowledge with real-world applications and contributing to the future workforce in autonomous system engineering.

    The transport sector is one of the largest contributors to pollution and green-house gas emissions, significantly impacting the environmental situation and public health in Ukrainian cities. The current standards of transport safety, energy consumption, and environmental impact fall short of meeting modern requirements. This article is focused on analyzing the policies and legislation of the European Union regarding the implementation of the European Green Deal within the transport sector, as well as exploring proposals for the decarbonization of various modes of transport in Ukraine, the use of alternative low-carbon fuels, and recommendations for Ukraine’s integration into the European Green Deal framework. An in-depth analysis was conducted to assess the alignment of Ukrainian state policy with the principles of the European Green Deal, identifying both the potential risks and benefits for Ukraine’s transport sector in the context of these principles. Additionally, the Authors propose a range of measures aimed at fostering sustainable mobility in Ukraine. The primary objective of this study is to develop a comprehensive vision for the strategy required to decarbonize Ukraine’s transport sector, with a particular emphasis on the railway system.

    The investigation of the behaviour of Vilnius St. Anne church, the prominent historical building belonging to the cultural heritage of Vilnius City, affected by dynamic external loading due to action of city traffic is considered. During the preliminary investigation the various damages and multi-cracking in the masonry structures of the St. Anne church has been observed. They are caused the long–term maintenance of this historical building. Item, the rapid growth of city traffic intensity in the last decade causes the increase the dynamic load, which is not completely controlled and the effect of this historical building of Vilnius Old Town is unpredictable. Especially, the full-scale dynamic experiment was conducted to predict dynamic behaviour of structure considered. The mass accelerations of church structures have been measured during the experimental study. The influence of the city traffic was estimated according to two typical sources - the conventional city traffic (natural source) and the dynamic impact, caused by heavily loaded truck moving on the street nearby to the church (increased risk source). The influence of induced vibrations is recorded by accelerometers located at various altitudes of the church structures. The results obtained are presented by accelerograms. Dynamic effects are evaluated by considering acceleration magnitudes and response spectra. A comparative analysis of various dynamic loadings is presented and the appropriate conclusions and recommendations are provided.

    The Authors examine the characteristics of driver behavior, their influence on vehicle control, and the use of vehicle control as a tool for the competitiveness of transport companies, ensuring the quality of their service, and improving the environment (ecology). The increasing competence of drivers in vehicle control provides an opportunity to increase the vehicle operation performance and reduce CO2 emissions. A numerical analysis of the combustion process in the cylinder of internal combustion engine (ICE) was performed using the AVL Cruise software package. Analyzing the numerical mathematical analysis of the heat release processes in the cylinder, the change in the CO2 release of the ICE is evaluated when the vehicle mass controlled by the driver actions.

    The Authors analyse the impact of the project “Rail Baltica” on the development of high-speed railways in Lithuania. The purpose of the research – to assess the need for high-speed railways and suggest the most rational operational model for high-speed railways in Lithuania. In developing the traffic of highspeed railways, many railway infrastructure managers are faced with the choice of rational operational model for train traffic. The Authors suggest solving this problem by applying Multi-Criteria Decision Making methods. In order to determine the compatibility of expert opinions the Kendall’s rank correlation method was used. As a result of this study, the Exclusive exploatation model for train traffic management was selected for Lithuanian Railways.

    This study investigates the effects of active roll control on tyre wear in electric vehicles. The increased mass due to the installed batteries and the resulting higher vertical and lateral forces during dynamic manoeuvres contribute significantly to tyre wear in electric vehicles. In this study, advanced mathematical modelling is used to investigate these effects in a high-fidelity simulation environment. A series of open-loop and closed-loop tests were used to analyse the distribution of tyre forces and the resulting wear patterns. The results suggest that active roll control can significantly increase load-induced tyre wear, particularly on the outer wheel where the forces are most pronounced. This work provides insights into the challenges that engineers will have to solve when developing new platforms for electric vehicles.

    The article analyses the attractiveness problems of public transit in the largest Lithuanian cities. The analytical-methodical part of the article discusses the concept of attractive public transport system. In the research section, the expert analysis that evaluates the public transport systems of the large Lithuanian cities is presented, and ways to improve the quality in this area are considered. Additionally, a qualitative method is applied to study the way to increase the attractiveness of public transportation services in the field of sustainable development by focusing on existing public transportation problems. The causal connections between expert evaluation and qualitative analysis are examined. Working methods and tools include analysis of methodological and scientific literature, quantitative research using questionnaires. In conclusion, the article presents a proposed solution that includes transit model, which will allow to promote and increase the attractiveness of public transport (PT) itself towards commuters.

    Structural Magnetic Resonance Imaging (sMRI) is a brain imaging technique that allows evaluating the brain of patients for any structural pathologies and is one of the main diagnostic tools used in Mild Cognitive Impairment (MCI) recognition. However, High-Resolution (HR) tomographs that can capture brain images with high spatial resolution are expensive. Therefore, Super-Resolution (SR) technique can be used to improve spatial resolution of the MRI images captured with lower resolution tomographs. State-of-the-art SR methods applied to medical images are prone to over-blurring the output images, due to focusing only on the pixel correctness aspect, but not on the perceptual quality of the generated images. We employ Generative Adversarial Networks (GAN) with advanced degradation techniques to train SR model, that produces not only sharp, but also fine details preserving images. We also empirically prove, that using SR in MCI diagnostic pipeline can improve classification performance by 1-4%.
