Personality traits are indicative of consistent patterns in thoughts, emotions, and behaviours, and they consequently impact students' academic performance. Numerous scientific investigations have explored the determinants of student learning success, with some emphasizing the significance of considering both student personality traits and generational cohorts. This study seeks to examine the associations between the Big Five personality dimensions and the learning strategies employed in mathematics lectures. A random sample of first- and second-year informatics engineering science students from Vilnius Gediminas Technical University (VILNIUS TECH) was selected for this research. Data were gathered through an anonymous survey utilizing a questionnaire developed by the authors. Non-parametric statistical tests were employed to analyse the data. The findings revealed that the sample predominantly consisted of students exhibiting the personality dimensions of agreeableness and conscientiousness. Furthermore, students' selection of learning strategies was generally independent of their personality dimensions. Nonetheless, the study underscored students' preferences for diverse learning strategies, irrespective of their personality traits.

The purpose of this case study is to determine student feedback and satisfaction with the flipped classroom. The flipped classroom method was applied for a duration of 15 weeks during the autumn semester of the academic year 2021-2022 at Vilnius Gediminas Technical University in Lithuania, within the Faculty of Civil Engineering, Department of Construction Management and Real Estate. The flipped classroom method was applied to 12 Master's degree students in the Real Estate Management program. During the application of the method, students were addressed in a mixed way (theoretical lectures online, practical work in the classroom). The article presents the theoretical part of the method and also describes the process of applying the flipped classroom method: preparation, development of the lecture plan, selection of tools for working with students, and feedback from students. The SWOT analysis of the case study is conducted. The results of the study show that students positively evaluate the use of the flipped classroom. Students mentioned the following positive aspects: more practice during lectures, flexibility in time and place, permanent and active learning, the possibility to learn at their own pace, to prepare for class, and take responsibility. As negative aspects, students mentioned the following: technical problems, technological inadequacies, lack of time for lecture preparation, previous habits, no adequate video duration, and workload. But it was also a challenge for the teachers: heavy workload (preparation), use of different tools in the application of the flipped classroom, involvement, and encouragement of the students.

There is currently a wide range of computer-aided design (CAD) software systems available on the market, but there is no methodology for selecting the bestsuited one for the user, considering various evaluation criteria. Taking into account the application of multi-criteria decision-making methods in software ranking and selection tasks, this paper proposes a model for the selection and suitability of CAD software systems for the preparation of a technical document, based on an expert evaluation using the AHP method. The proposed model was realised through a real situation analysis. The main advantage of the proposed model is its versatility, as it can be applied to the selection of computer-aided design software systems when the qualitative attributes are used for the evaluation of the system.

Specialists in engineering must effectively communicate their ideas using technical drawings. To develop students' technical drawing skills, the subject of engineering graphics aims at using appropriate teaching methods. This study proposes a novel approach to teaching engineering graphics, that is, an active method of Flipped Classroom (FC) that incorporates H5P tools. These tools have been shown to effectively support self-directed learning and enable in-class activities, ultimately enhancing the effectiveness of the FC method. The study results demonstrate a positive impact of the FC method on students' knowledge levels. By integrating the FC method with H5P tools, the study establishes a powerful learning environment that promotes deep learning and increases student engagement in engineering graphics.

The article investigates the Baltic pre-service Technology teachers' expression of verbal creativity in their final years of study and analyzes the constituent dimension of sustainable textile consumption. The students' verbal creativity was examined using a verbal expression questionnaire compiled following the methodological recommendations of E. P. Torrance for diagnosing a person’s creativity. The development of sustainable textile consumption is part of the Technological education curriculum analyzing responsible consumption issues that are becoming more complex. In most cases, education directly depends on the educator's knowledge, skills, values, habits, experience, and communication. The present research disclosed students – pre service teachers understanding that handicrafts are not related to ethnicity, values, or a phenomenon, which calls for exceptional protection. The integral model of tasks on identification/development of verbal creativity expression and identification/development of sustainable textile consumption was presented in the article.

The structure of ceramics is non-uniform, and many scientists have studied the size and distribution of pores and capillaries in ceramic products. The mechanism of disintegration of ceramic products during freezing is reviewed in detail. Rapid forecasting methods based on one parameter are not promising. Forecasting methods, when based on a higher number of parameters, are much more reliable and better show the frost resistance of ceramic products. In the current period, two directions of ceramic product forecasts are distinguished, one area basis on structural and strength parameters, the other on deformation parameters. Rapid forecasting methods allow for the evaluation of the frost resistance of ceramic products quickly enough, and by applying them, it is possible to stop the entry of low-quality products into construction.

In the most MADM (Multiple Attribute Decision Making) methods the attribute values are provided to transform into one dimension. This restructuring is carried out in accordance with appropriate normalization techniques. It has been observed that some MADM methods are used for different normalization techniques. In practical calculations it was noted, that using different normalization techniques in the same MADM method, different alternative priority lines, with the same data, are produced. The research object of this paper is the group of the normalization techniques that are used in the multiple attribute decision-making methods of TOPSIS and COPRAS. The aim of this paper is to analyze the normalization techniques that influence the ranking of alternatives and to find out which mentioned multiple attributes decision-making method is sensitive with respect to the normalization techniques.

The links between emotional intelligence and loss are under-researched, even though a lot of studies have investigated the psychological outcomes of traumatic experiences. Many people suffered multiple losses during the COVID-19 pandemic, including a loss of job, money, support services, or loved ones. The loss of a loved one might result in severe psychological trauma, and research suggests that early-life trauma relates to numerous forms of emotion dysregulation, including stress-reactivity. The consequences of loss for people with special needs deserve special attention since it often means not only the loss of a loved one but also the usual way of life. Thus, it is essential to analyze various aspects of loss experience, including the impact on emotional regulation, to reduce the harmful consequences of the COVID-19 pandemic. The purpose of this research was to examine emotional intelligence in groups of those who have a recent experience of loss and those who have not and to establish the impact of the experience of loss on the human psyche and mental health. We have analyzed the results of a simple random sample of gymnasium students (n=362). We hypothesized that the recent loss of a loved one diminishes the ability to understand self and other focused emotions as well as situational emotions. The survey has revealed that respondents who experienced the loss of a loved one understood better how individuals felt in the presented situations than those who did not have such experience. The premise that people who have experienced the loss of a loved one have a lower understanding of emotions than their peers who did not have such an experience has not been confirmed.

While the FinTech sector is expanding rapidly and making up a larger share of the whole finance sector, and Lithuania taking measures in order to attract more FinTech companies, the need to determine the dependency between FinTech and a country’s competitiveness arises. The purpose of this article is to evaluate FinTech influence on a country’s competitiveness. Theoretical part of the article defined FinTech and competitiveness as terms. FinTech ecosystem and classification of firms were also analysed. Six macroeconomical indicators that could possibly influence a country’s competitiveness were distinguished. Furthermore using the correlation-regression analysis method, FinTech influence on the six macroeconomical indicators, that are expressed quantitatively and define a country’s competitiveness, was determined. According to the results of the research, FinTech influences four of the six selected macroeconomical indicators, these indicators are – GDP, average annual wage, unemploymentand exports.

Objective: This study aimed at identifying the relationship between socioeconomic status and psychological well being in the Lithuanian population. Background: Socioeconomic status implies that not all individuals have equal opportunities to achieve their goals, because not everyone has equal access to education, health, even business support services, and the psychological well-being of some may be significantly reduced solely by lack of material resources. Method: The main method of research in the article is an interview method at the respondent's home. Also, various assessment tools were used in the Lithuanian population survey. In this survey, the authors applied the following scales: Flourishing Scale; The Satisfaction with Life Scale; The Cantril Self-Anchoring Striving Scale and The Positive and Negative Emotional Experience Scale. Results: The results of the study showed statistically significant differences in psychological well-being (psychological flourishing, life satisfaction, happiness, positive and negative emotional experiences) between different income quintile groups, with average psychological well-being constructs in the lowest income quintile being about twice lower than in the highest income quintile. The study showed that the mean ranks of the happiness score in the most deprived group were almost seven times lower than in the middle class. Conclusion: The research has established that strong and lasting negative emotional experiences are related to diminished well-being and can cause direct and indirect public damages. Authors indicate that additional research is needed.
