Regarding the absence of easily accessible public institutions, which represent eco-science and unite scientists conducting research in Lithuania. The aim of the Master's Thesis is to design Ecology Research and Education center and to analyze todays problems of the topic. The complex is situated at Gariunai sand and gravel quarry in Vilnius, Lithuania. Thus the location of it allows to solve the problems related to the harm of mining mineral resources to the environment. Therefore, the site has a great influence for the concept of the project. The idea of the project is inspired by the cellular structure of the natural design. Consiquently, organic structure has been developed on site that is constanlty spreading and regenerating the area. Thus, the core element supporting the primary functions of the eco-centre is designed and the future development scenario is forseen and based under the logic of the cell growth. The thesis work presents a deeper understanding of a fairly new agenda of sustainable architecture and technological engineering. It also introduces issues related to the problems of: image, aesthetic importance, social significance and new typology of the publicly open science centre. This thesis consists of written (introduction/analysis/design part/conclusions) and graphic (complex drawings and models) representation.
