Laser Scanning to Build up BIM Models in Existing Buildings
For a few last years the laser scanning has become important surveying technique in geodesy. Laser scanning can be applied to support the detailed documentation of the as-built to instigate a facilities program for the long-standing management of an asset. Master of Science level project aim - to sift BIM need for existing buildings, to examine the connection between laser scanning and BIM, to investigate point cloud usage possibilities in BIM, to analyze program management tools for Autodesk Revit and to present new benefits of BIM. In this project was chosen to create BIM of existing Gjoevik University College B-building with Autodesk Revit Arhitecture software. From existing B-building point clouds (facade and three rooms) using Scan to BIM and Leica CloudWorx for Autodesk Revit was started to create BIM. Other floors and components were drawn from 2D PDF plans whose were checked and some measurements were adjusted. Also are presented and analyzed new BIM program management tools COBie, TIDA and dRofus and new benefits of BIM Energy Analyzis for GreenBIM.
