The final master thesis deals with the problems of autonomous video surveillance systems with object recognition, the structure of the system, its methods of operation and object recognition algorithms. A comparative analysis of the autonomous video surveillance system is presented, the advantages and disadvantages of the system are highlighted. Existing solutions are analyzed and the problems of the project are highlighted – the systems operate at short distances and only work when connected to a wireless network, or they recognize objects by their shape rather than by their classification using IoT, and they work with sensors which improve their lifetime, but this does not fulfil the main objective of capturing an object in a remote location where it is not possible to connect to the wireless network, or where it is necessary to pinpoint the object under analysis. In the exploratory part, the components of the system have been selected. The system has been tested under realistic conditions, showing that uptime and stability can be further improved depending on the needs. The experimental approach and the iterative refinement have shown that even a microcontroller with limited capabilities can provide the basis for innovative monitoring solutions.
