Darbo apimtis – 74 p. teksto be priedų, 21 iliustracija, 11 lentelių, 1 priedas, 34 bibliografiniai šaltiniai.
Main objective of the master thesis is to understand holistically the transformation process of the European energy sector towards climate neutral domain of the economy and designing a theoretical model of energy sector transformation. This includes an examination of the circumstances, headwinds and tailwinds, affecting the pace of change, and the analysis of the compatibility between economic growth and environmental objectives. The final master's thesis examines the process of European energy sector transformation towards the climate neutrality and sustainability goals. The composition and classification of the sector is assessed, its contribution to the economy, resources and the main factors influencing the green evolution are analysed. The indicators measuring the progress of the sector’s transition have also been collected and systematized, and a statistical analysis of European energy indicators has been carried out. The examination of energy sector is concluded with the theoretical model that seeks to combine a wide 360-degree spectrum of elements operating in the energy transformation process. The final work includes regression analysis of the environmental and green energy transformation indicators with a purpose to uncover the impact of energy transformation on the environment. The compatibility of environmental and economic growth goals is assessed by exploring the hypothesis of the environmental Kuznets curve. Finally, the conclusions of the thesis are provided. The work consists of 6 parts: introduction, theoretical analysis, research methodology selection, practical part, conclusions and bibliography. The scope of work - 74 p. text without appendices, 21 illustrations, 11 tables, 1 appendix, 34 bibliographic sources.
