Third-party logistics (3PL) providers are an important connecting part of the global supply chain. Their core competence is a multi-modal international shipment, customer (manufacturers/ retailers) value creation with respect to the cost advantage, economies of scale and skill utilization. Global trends induces that the business shows a growing interest in purchasing logistics services. Manufacturers and retailers are turning to 3PL service providers in order that they manage their logistics processes, as well as other value-added activities such as customs clearance and the supply of raw materials on time. The changing global trends, partnership between manufacturers/ retailers and 3PL providers have become vitally important. The business community, showing their attention to the business value creation, promotes third-party logistics providers to follow this trend. They want to reform their strategies in order to maximize not only the value of own business, but also the customer‘s. This raises the need for new financial measurement and modeling tools to allow managers accurately impart what actions need to be taken in order to increase 3PL business value thru business strategy. The object of this work is a particular 3PL service provider. The objective is based on the enhancing selected company’s economic value. The work is focused on the economic value added (EVA) model, which allows to assess the created business value for 3PL providers. In this paper valuation methods analysis is used, which allows an objective comparison of methods and choose the most suitable for the selected company. Also full overview and analysis of financial indicators which are later used to compare with the results obtained using EVA method. Suggestions are presented considering estimated results. To address the fundamental problem for the company – the declining economic added value, I proposed practical model that would allow the company to reduce operating costs, capital costs and increase profits. These factors then will allow to enhance economic value added of the company.
