In the final master's thesis, samples of maraging steel grade 1.2709, manufactured using selective laser melting (SLM) technology with laser-alloyed surfaces using boron, are studied. The focus is on laser-boronized surfaces with varying hardness, the Heat Affected Zone (HAZ) formed during laser alloying, and the impact of the boronized surfaces and HAZ on the overall mechanical properties of the product. The study involves the investigation of the microhardness and microstructure of alloyed layers with different hardness levels and concentrations of boride phases. Using the Knoop indentation method, the elastic modulus (E) of the boronized layers and the criteria for crack resistance (H/E) and plastic deformation resistance (H3/E2) of hard coatings were determined. The thesis presents the dependencies of E, H/E and H3/E2 on the hardness of the examined surfaces. To assess the impact of the boronized layers and HAZ on the mechanical properties of the entire product, experimental bending tests were conducted, and stress distribution during bending and tensile tests was analyzed using computer modeling. The thesis consists of 7 parts: introduction, literature review, experimental research methodology, research analysis methodology, results, conclusions and recommendations, and a list of references. The master's thesis comprises 62 pages, 35 figures, 11 tables, and 55 bibliographic sources.
