Investigation of GPS Tracking System and Protocols
The purpose of my research was to investigate GPS accuracy in urban areas and improve GPS accuracy after the Kalman filter implementation. I've analyzed to the GPS parameters in different cases.These parameters are SNR,Altitude,Position and Velocity. I plotted graphs of these parameters against time with the Matlab software. These graphics allowed me to learn about GPS accuracy and allowed me to comment. The raw data observed were analyzed graphically in different situations. I have simulated Kalman filter implementation via Matlab software to improve GPS parameters accuracy. I plotted the kalman estimated GPS parameter values that I obtained with the Matlab software.I compared the kalman estimate values with the observed values. As a result, I have seen that Kalman filter implementation has effect on the gps accuracy. I have reduced the noise errors on the GPS signals with Kalman filter implementation. As a result, I proved that GPS accuracy improved. Shortly, I came to the conclusion that Kalman filter implementation is one of the most important solution ways for GPS accuracy.
