Analysis of changes in trade between Lithuania and Non-European countries after the EU accession.

Šiame tyrime aš analizuoju prekybos tarp Lietuvos ir ne Europos Sąjungos šalių evoliuciją ir charakteristikas per nacionalinio ir tarptautinio konkurencingumo prizmę tam tikruose ekonominiuose sektoriuose, lyginant Lietuvą su pagrindiniais jos prekybos partneriais. Analizė yra paremta statistine medžiaga susieta su įvairiais rodikliais. Šalies prekybos ir specializacijos analizei naudojami sekantys rodikliai: prekybos partnerių skaičius, užsienio prekybos apimtys ir struktūra, eksporto ir importo kryptys, šalies eksporto dalis visoje užsienio prekyboje, eksporto-importo santykis, įgytas lyginamasis pranašumas ir integruotų veiksnių produktyvumas. Remdamasis statistine informacija aš įvertinau Lietuvos importo ir eksporto potencialą tam tikruose ekonominiuose sektoriuose ne ES šalių kontekste. Šis įvertinimas leido man pasiūlyti tolesnės prekybos kryptis, kurios turėtų būti įgyvendintos Valstybės institucijų, kad pagerinti Lietuvos prekybos padėtį.
In this paper I analyze the characteristics and evolution of trade between Lithuania and non-European Union countries in the perspective of national and international competitiveness in certain sectors comparing Lithuania's performance to the main trading partners' performances. The analysis is based on the statistical data related to various indexes. For the analysis of the trade performance and specialization of the country the research focused on the following indexes: number of partner countries; volume and structure of foreign trade turnover; export and import trends; nation export share in the foreign trade turnover; export-import ratio; revealed comparative advantages and total factor productivity (TFP). Based on the statistical data, I have evaluated the potential of Lithuania's imports and exports in particular economic sectors in the context of non-European Union trading partners. This evaluation allowed me to suggest trading policies to be implicated by the government for the better performance of Lithuanian trade.
