Baigiamajame magistro darbe nagrinėjamas laivų emisijų mažinimo potencialas naudojant alternatyvius energijos šaltinius - suskystintas gamtines dujas (SGD), palyginant jas su jūriniu dyzelinu (MDO). Tyrimo tikslas - įvertinti emisijų skirtumus CO₂, SOₓ ir NOₓ atžvilgiu, taikant matematinį modeliavimą MATLAB aplinkoje. Atskirai pridedami darbo priedai.
The final master's thesis examines the potential for reducing ship emissions by using alternative energy sources specifically, liquefied natural gas (LNG)-in comparison to marine diesel oil (MDO). The aim of the study is to assess the differences in emissions of CO₂, SOₓ, and NOₓ through mathematical modeling conducted in the MATLAB environment. The modeled route covered Klaipėda-Kiel and included meteorological conditions. The results showed that the use of LNG reduces CO₂ emissions by about 22%, SOₓ by nearly 100%, and NOₓ by approximately 12-15%, compared to MDO. The conclusions and recommendations presented in the thesis confirm the environmental advantage of LNG and its application potential in SECA zones. The thesis consists of the following parts: introduction, literature review, research methodology, discussion of the results, comparison of the findings with those of a scientific article, and the conclusions of the study. The thesis is 66 pages long and includes 8 tables, 17 figures, and 66 references. Appendices are provided separately.
