Research on Parametric Fabrication Architecture: Cultural Community in Nantong, China

Abstract

Along with the advance of technology and mature, the emergence of some professional building software and application, computer has become an important tool for architects to design, architectural design is unavoidably influenced by parameterized thought, my idea is derived from the present construction of parametric design and practice in the field of growing and myself from eastern China to central Europe some of the ideas and experience. With the prevalence of architectural modernism, the eastern coastal area of China has been impacted by the worldwide architectural thoughts earlier due to its opening, and the traditional architectural elements are gradually missing. This research raises some questions about the possibility of applying parametric technology to traditional structural buildings, so as to arouse the vitality of traditional architectural structural elements, which is the starting point of this paper.
