The thesis consists of an investigation of various approaches and strategies to interpret and preserve vernacular and traditional construction techniques and morphologies of specific regions around the world. It also, considers case studies of architectural interventions taking place in locations of challenging topographic conditions, expanding on the possible ways to interact with sites of these specific character. I focus too on certain characteristic elements of the context, history and architecture of the region of intervention in El Panecillo-Quito (Ecuador) to consider in my posterior design. In addition, I examine through the experimental use of prompt-powered earlier versions of artificial intelligence engines the social problematics of the context around the site and the effect of these on tourism and functionality. The results of the analytical part are applied to the design by the functional definition of the project as "Cultural Exchange center" rather than just cultural center, concluding in a design that incorporates the tradition, context and history of the site with a morphological and functional arrangement of the proposed structures focused on acting as a catalyst of social intervention within the area intending to passively transform context through its use.
