The master thesis presents the investigation of Joint Stiffness Influence on the Structural Stability of Modular Scaffold Structures used for temporary Access Systems. This thesis study consists of three chapters. The first chapter presents a literature review on existing scaffolding systems and the structural response, and possible methodologies for modeling joints and considering their stiffness influence on the overall stability and strength of the system. The second chapter describes the development of the finite element model for the wedge-type scaffold connection and performs deformational analysis of the considering joint to obtain the moment-rotation curve in the vertical plane and define parameters governing the rotational stiffness of the connection. The third chapter presents the parametric study. A simplified finite element model of the modular scaffolding bridge was created. Comparative analysis of the structural stability of the considered system with standard simplified - pined - rigid and numerically determined semi-rigid connections to analyze the effect of the connection stiffness on the stability of the modular scaffold bridge. The thesis is finalized with the main conclusion. The study is structured of 85p., 69 figures, 11 tables, 49 references.
