Novikovas, Rolandas |
Darbo apimtis - 50 p.
This thesis deals with machine translation systems, system types and their translation problems in Lithuanian language. The main purpose of this work is to make a tool that helps to supplement the machine translation system using egzisting translation resources. The paper examines the problems of Lithuanian language translation, literature that helps to understand these problems, also principles of the translation systems are discussed, proposed method of collecting translation resources. It also presents an open-source program "OmegaT" for translation memory storing. Research results may be useful in the future for increasing accuracy of the machine translation systems based on statistical methods by adding new bilingual texts. The uniqueness of the program is that using the biggest translating resource nowadays called Google Translate which is based on statistical methods it can translate text as segments which are intended to supplement the translation memory and as complete sentences too. Also, it is unique that it can be installed into a web site, and become accessible to large numbers of people, also additional program installation is not required. This thesis consists of introduction, translation theory, analytical part, conclusion and references. Work's size 50 pages.
