Visagino energetikos centro projektavimui svarbus aspektas vietos pasirinkimas, kurį lemia Visagino miesto savivaldybės vystomo energetinio centro projekto vizija. Projekto vystymui pasirinkta „Visagino parko” teritorija gražiame ir ramiame Visagino miesto užmiestyje. Toje teritorijoje esamas administracinis pastatas rekonstruojamas ir pritaikomas energetikos centro poreikiams. Pastate yra išsaugomas Ignalinos atominės elektrinės bloko valdymo skydo simuliatorius. Rekonstruojamo pasato struktūrą papildo naujai projektuojama pasato dalis, kuri išplečia energetinio centro funkcijas. Nauja pastato dalis projektuojama po žeme imituojant reaktorių. Esama situacija ir nauja projekto dalis sujungiamos naujais ryšiais remiantis radiacijos simboliu, kurie integruojami į esamą teritorijos kontekstą.
The goal of the final project is to analise the importance, methods, and solutions of sustainable development and apply the principles of green architecture in designing the Energy Center in Visaginas. Atomic Visaginas: preserving and adapting the identity of a nuclear site and the tangible and intangible heritage of a nuclear facility for sustainable tourism development. A primary condition for sustainable architectural design is the use of sustainable materials and the integration of renewable energy sources. Renewable energy sources are an excellent alternative to traditional energy production methods, mainly because their use results in significantly less pollution when generating energy. These sources are inexhaustible, environmentally friendly, and their use helps reduce dependence on fossil fuels. The analytical part also discusses the advantages and disadvantages of nuclear energy, the history of the Ignalina Nuclear Power Plant, the history of Visaginas, and the problems that will be faced after the closure of the Ignalina Nuclear Power Plant. A crucial aspect of designing the Visaginas Energy Center is the choice of location, determined by the vision of the Visaginas municipal energy center project. The chosen site for the project is the "Visaginas Park" area, located in the beautiful and quiet outskirts of Visaginas. An existing administrative building in that area will be reconstructed and adapted to meet the needs of the new energy center. The building will preserve the simulator of the control panel of the Ignalina Nuclear Power Plant block. The structure of the reconstructed building will be complemented by a newly designed part that expands the functions of the energy center. The new part of the building will be designed underground, simulating a reactor. The existing situation and the new part of the project will be joined by new axes based on the radiation symbol, which will be integrated into the existing context of the area.
