Abstract (en)
During the years of the soviet occupation Lithuania had 227 military territories of the Soviet Union, including 12 military bases and training grounds. The Gaižiūnai military range is a many - profiled military training objects that includes firing fields, tank firelds, bombing grounds, tank route ant other military training territories. In the range artificial relief has been formed by ripping, compressing, running over, destroying the soil. The soil erosion has been spreading in impoverished areas. A laboratotry analysis indicates the soil porosity alternations in the tank route and in the military training field. The soil porosity in the military training field is by 10 present lower, than that of a standard sample.
