In to make clearer the most important directions of restructurization of Lithuanian building materials industry enterprises in 1998 a special study was carried out and restructurization program was prepared. According to the data of statistics department during 1991-1997 period volumes of building work decreased by about two times, construction materials industry gross production declined by more than five times. The decline rate of construction materials industry is much greater than the volume of building, the restructurization in construction (new materals and construction methods used) has gone far ahead increasing the use of imported materials. Therefore the main task of buiding science is to integrate into the realization of restructurization program seeking to employ the local potencial in the best way.
