Abstract (en)
There are several different automatic systems in use in Europe (operating while a train is running) to detect wagon wheel damages. The principles of their operation and the reliability of the measurements may differ. This is especially true in different seasons (winter/summer). The results of data collection and aggregation should be checked as equivalent (comparable). The authors compare the efficiency of different automatic systems in detecting wheel failures at different seasons of the year and present their results.
