To simulate natural sedimentation processes in river floodplains, one should understand the difficult processes during flood period, that occur in the main river and in grassed areas. Grassed areas can be used extensively for the protection of surface water against polluted runoffs. Thus, it is very important to understand and model sediment behavior in floodplain through grass. In this article main sedimentation processes over grassed areas were canalyzed. Sedimentation process in floodplain in grassed areas needs to have a special method wchih would evaluate the increased roughness (density and thickness of grass blades), terrain characteristics (slope and size, particular length in the flow direction, soil type), sediment characteristics (size and density of particles) and absent of resuspension. Also, this calculation needs to have method which evaluates, that the tide has two phases itself (raising and ebb tides). We will give principle scheme how sedimentation in inundated grassland can be simulated to model most of main known processes that occur in floodplain during flood period.
