The article aims to analyse the aspects of updating information technologies. In the presented study the urgent problems of developing information technologies in the field of transport are discussed and their reguliarities are summarized. It is suggested that the problems detected should be solved in relation with the differentiation of IT aims of transport organizations, by applying the classification of information technologies effectively and by grounding theoretically algorithms of doing sums which make the organization and efficient development of information technologies in the sphere of transport management possible.
