The paper describes the investigation of crack propagation in a single edge noth bending (SENB) specimen using the adaptive FE analysis. General formulation of proposed adaptive FE analysis, using simple stress indicator, is considered. It is implemented as the user's utility, which may be easily involved into the environment of standard FE codes. [...].
