Šiandieninėje visuomenėje pastebimi akivaizdūs pokyčiai politiniu, ekonominiu, demografiniu ir kultūriniu lygmeniu, o vis didesnį aktualumą įgyja socialiniai prieštaravimai visuomenėje. Šiuose procesuose kritiškai svarbi yra socialines paslaugas tei- kiančių profesionalų atsakomybės problema. Asmens atsakomybės formavimasis pradeda- mas dar gerokai prieš jam pasirenkant profesiją. Tyrimo tikslas – nustatyti ugdymo(si) veiksnius, darančius įtaką būsimųjų profesionalų atsakomybės formavimuisi. Tyrimui atlikti pasirinkta Mykolo Romerio universiteto Teisės ir policijos veiklos studijų programa. 2011 metais apklausoje dalyvavo 102, o 2015 metais – 109 pirmo kurso studentai.
Obvious changes in the political, economic, demographic and cultural level in todays’ society are observed and the increasing relevance of social contradictions among the members of the community is evident. Subsequently theissue of the responsibility of public service professionals becomes crucial in the aforementioned processes. One of the most important traits of a professional is responsibility. The formation of one’s responsibility begins long before choosing one’s profession. The following early education(al) factors may be distinguished: family, school and selfeducation. The latter early education(al) factors act as a precondition for shaping the person’s traits of character and values, such as creativity, a sense of duty and responsibility. During the years of school education each person who affects the orientation of the individual’s social values and contributes to forming one’s self consciousness is significant to the student or learner. It is crucial for the future professional to have traits of social responsibility and to obtain a fully-formed function, a legal category of legal responsibility prior to studies at a university, and the latter traits must also be nurtured during the entire educational process. An individual, who possesses fully-formed social and legal responsibility, is responsible before other members of the society, obeys the laws and is responsible before the law.
