Due to peculiarities of climate, geological and topographical conditions most of Lithuanian teritory suffers from excess of water. Because of that drainage of agricultural lands was started in Lithuania already at the beginning of our century and lasts up to present time. Drainage systems cover 3.05 million h of agricultural areas, what consists 77.7 % of all territory of Lithuania. Shortage of financial support and difficult economical situation cause changes of situation in land reclamation systems. Most of them are maintained at minimal level of attention or left without control. Open channels of the systems are touched by naturalization process more significant. They influence landscape positively, although effect of the system on soil water regime becomes negative. Earlier established and damaged by time and lack of attention land reclamation systems becomes unacceptable for temporary requirements to environment. Artificial naturalization of such systems is popular in Germany, Denmark, Great Britain. Controlled naturalization method is more favourable for our present economical conditions. Method of controlled naturalization is new. Deep scientific studies of naturalization process to be performed to find out the most effective method of it’s control.
