Abstract (en)
The paper presents the analysis of the transport infrastructure projects co-financed by European Union funds, which are ongoing and are planned for implementation in the future. The first road projects were implemented under the Phare programme financing. Later, in 2001-2004, road and railway projects were successfully implemented under ISPA programme, which came as a continuation to Phare. For the three-year period starting from 2004, Cohesion and Structural funds will provide substantial co-financing to transport infrastructure projects. The paper describes the experience of implementation of various transport projects in Lithuania in various stages of EU cofinancing.
