Abstract (en)
In this article different modern conceptions of sustainable development are mentioned and compact city concept is distinguished summarizing the compact city theory. The division and comparison of sustainable development concepts are given.The main characteristics of sustainable structure and relations between themin compact city are explained. The last part of article explains situation in Lithuania today and development trends for the nearest future, the main problems regarding the form and compactness of Lithuanian towns are described.
