The military activity carried out by the occupation army in Lithuania inflicted an extensive damage to the environment: damaged ground, destroyed forests, and the degraded flora. In the Gaižiūnai Military training ground it is possible to distinguish various firing ranges: tank training fields, demolition areas, and tracked vehicles areas. The training ground has an artificially created terrain, the devastated forms of natural landscape, the compressed soil, and the mixed upper layer of soil. Sand erosion occurs in some places. Laboratory investigation shows that the soil porosity rate in a tracked vehicle route, small tank training field and a drifted sand desert “Sahara” is distributed unevenly. An Algebraic Slip model (ASM) was used for heavy particles dispersion in air flow. The dependent variables include the sedimentation velocities, the concentration of different densities and size of sand particles and three – dimensional velocity components When selecting measures for the soil protection against deflation, simulation of the situation was performed, building of enclosures across the prevailing of wind direction is recommended.
