In 1997 in Vilnius from the bridge that was built in 1974 destructive test of one 24 m length prestressed concrete girder was carried out. Typical T-shape precast girders are installed in many Lithuanian bridges. The test was carried out to get data, causes and character about cracking, deflections and failure mechanism as well as the corrosion of prestressed reinforcement. The girder was instrumented to monitor deflections, surface strains in the concrete and strand slip.
