The area of environment protection has become much more important in the priority list of the Government strategy when Lithuania became the member of the European Union. Lithuania has got a great number of obligations in all areas of environment protection, especially in area of waste management. The main objective of the paper is to analyze waste management situation in Lithuania finalized by the proposals of its improvement by using EU funds.
