The article deals with the problems of the specialists training for the Air Force in Lithuania. Close cooperation between Vilnius Gediminas Technical University and Lithuanian Military Academy could allow to train high skilled specialists with minimal expenses. The practical training of the students could be organised using the training facilities of the VGTU Aviation Institute, Lithuanian Civil Aviation, Air Force and Ministry of Interior Affairs. Seeking to adopt such cooperation of the preparation of specialists the legislation of expensive military training at the universities is proposed. Besides, the procedure of the conferment of military ranks after the graduation of university has to be foreseen and the graduates should be exempt from the compulsory military service.
