Abstract (en)
This paper develops a procedure for estimating probabilities of damage to structures due to accidental actions (abnormal loads). The procedure quantifies epistemic uncertainties in the damage probabilities in terms of Bayesian prior and posterior distributions. A foundation of the proposed procedure is a computer intensive method known as a Bayesian bootstrap. [...].
