Hot asphalt concrete mixtures with dense grading usually are used for road pavement in Lithuania. The requirements for the mixtures are prepared and updated, they are simmilar to the requirements used in West Europe. Hot asphalt concrete mixtures with dense grading usually are used for road. Lithuanian road professionals do not possess enough knowledge about special bituminous mixtures, such as draining asphalt concrete, mistic asphalt, cold asphalt concrete and poured asphalt concrete. New special equipment, mashines and technology is necessary for mixing and laying the non traditional bituminous mixtures. Mastic asphalt started to be used by the road specialists in Vilnius, they have also prepared technical specifications for it. The possibilities of ussage, as well as positive and negative sides in paving and maintenance of the road pavements are to be evaluated.
