GMO panaudojimo perspektyvos Lietuvoje

Abstract

New technologies are indication of progressive and modern century. Presently GMO (genetically modified organisms) and biotechnologiy are frequent obect of discusion. The rising alarm have encoureged to pay atention to the possible danger for human health and for the environment. Safety of GM food has not been proved. Consequently deliberate release of GMO into environment must be strictly controlld. There is no doubt that the use of GMO in various fields of life will grow because new technologies are result of progress. The course of science is incessant process consequently the flat prohibition will not be effective. Presently there is no possibility to predict all consequences of the use of GMO. In oder to preserve safe future respective dicisions must be made.
