There are four major influence quantities affecting the flow measurement. Velocity profile is one of these factors and probably the most important. A single elbow distors the profile in the elbow plane. So the influence of profile distortion to the measuring accuracy and how the distance from the elbow affects the velocity profile is analyzed in this publication.
