Alternative methods of resolution of disputes that originated between members of construction process

Abstract

As experience of construction businesses of the USA and many Western countries shows, disputes originating between the members of construction process (clients, projectors, contractors, suppliers, supervision institutes) can be successfully resolved without appealing to courts that in Lithuania are still considered as the main institute resolving disputes. Beside court disputes resolution, there are also other alternative dispute resolution methods, most frequently applied in practice are negotiation, mediation and arbitration. With the use of mathematical methods the article analyzes selection of a dispute resolution method that is the most efficient for the members of construction process in economic terms, attempts to answer the question of means that the members of construction process can meet their interests and needs with at the least expense.
