Operation properties of welds of the power-generating plants are appreciably defined by phase changes in a heat-affected zone. At the thermal cycles of welding in a weld and a heat-affected zone of heat-proof steels the carbides of iron and chromium are formed, structural inhomogeneity is formed too, resistance of metal to formation of hot and cold flaws decreases. We researched effect of a welding cycle on samples of temperature-resistant and heat-proof steel 20X23H18 GOST 5632-72. It is established, that at single-pass welding by a tungsten electrode in environment of an argon the sample has a ductile fracture and major corrosion resistance, than at many-pass welding (fracture has fragile character and smaller corrosion resistance).
