The coastal areas are sensitive to the vertical movements of the earth's surface as it leads to either drowning of the mainland territories that are often densely populated, or conversely to shallowing of the harbor areas. The latter phenomenon is well known in the Scandinavian coastal area of the Baltic Sea that is accounted to the isostatic rebound of the lithosphere after the glaciation. [...].
