In oil-refinery plants arise big quantity of the waste FCC catalyst, which utilize is very important. The aim of investigation was to study the possibilities to use the waste FCC catalyst as a fine additive in refractory concrete with alumina cement. For this purpose was testing flowability and workability of refractory concrete with milled catalyst, kinetic of egzo effects during concrete hardening and influence of waste catalyst on physical-mechanical characteristics of traditional refractory concrete. It was found that some impurities in waste catalyst effected on early EXO temperature of concrete samples that stimulate a decrease in workability of concrete. In order to improve workability of refractory concrete citric acid and Castament FS-40 deffloculiant were used. It was determined that presence of 3-6% catalyst increased compressive strength of concrete after hardening. However, catalyst has high ignition loss (-5%) and it is a reason that thermal shock resistance as well as compressive strength after firing of refractory concrete with catalyst is lower compared to control (0%). If used milled and fired at 1000 °C catalyst, the properties of concretes were the highest and after thermal treatment the cracks did not appear on the surface of the samples.
