Fir bark has a rather high porosity. It reaches up to 75%. The experimental studies have revealed that under higher porosity of a biomedium, the aerodynamic resistance collapses, and the speed of the air flow in the biofilter goes down. Biomedia of biofilters have a rather low resistance, it usually reaches up to 200 Pa. Vitality of microorganisms depends on the aerodynamic resistance. In case of high pressure, they may die which would result in lower efficiency of the device. The article evaluates the speed of the air flow in the biofilter that contains the activated fir bark charge and establishes the aerodynamic resistance of the biomedium (fir bark). In the niological air purification device, the fir bark biomedium is divided into 5 layers that do not press each other. [...].
