Transverse and rotational vibrations of steel rope important issue using dynamic properties of rope fragment as diagnostic characteristics for rope broken wire dtection. This paper is intended to research of steel rope dynamic properties using lumped mass model. Theoretical detection of desired natural frequencies and corresponding forms of axially tensed rope fragment is useful for proposed method implementation. Proposed theoretical modeli s verified with results of experimental research of steel rope. Proposed modeli s focused on transversal and rotational rope vibration analysis, there is an aom to obatain rotational vibration shape of rope from excitation in transveral direction to rope axis. Obtained theoretically clculated amplitude-frequency characteristics are compared with experimentally measured and good coincidence was noticed. Finaly, conclusions are drawn on performed rope modelling results.
