Damping of torsional vibrations in motocar transmission is an urgent technical problem. The durability of the elements of a car and partly its comfortability depend on the intensity of such vibrations. Elastic rubber coupling is one of dampers used today. But it has several shortcommings – it is sensitive to the influence of an aggressive environment (oil products, temperature etc.), its elastic characteristics changes in time. The author proposes to replace this type of coupling by an elastic centrifugal ring coupling with a steel ring as an elastic element. Such a coupling is insensitive to the environment and does not age. In this paper the dinamic characteristics of the proposed coupling connecting two masses are dicussed. Kinetic potential as difference between the kinetic and potential energy of such a system is explored using the Lagrange second type equations. A method for determining the dependence of the kinetic energy of a rotating deformed elastic ring on its deformation is presented. [...].
