Abstract (en)
Developing these propositions, I argue that if we then switch from the architect's vertical vision to the horizontal perspective of the resident, we will then arrive in a position to properly understand today's spontaneous transformations and mutations of modernist "open form" and "open space", stimulated as they are by the complex course of everyday life. Then, in turn, we may be able to arrive at a fresh appreciation of the "sleeping districts", and bring new insights on future scenarios of adaptation and reuse.
