Soil pH is one of the most important factors defining soil quality. It influences chemical – geochemical soil processes which determine soil sensibility to chemical and physical disturbances. The precise determination of the soil acidity is one of the main objectives during soil investigations. The aim of this study was to evaluate the differences between two pH methods in the soil of different land use. Results showed that pH values in soil mixed with water were significantly higher (p<0.05) than in soil mixed with CaCl2. The highest difference was found for the pasture soil (1.66±0.74) and the lowest – for soil amended with sewage sludge (0.8±0.15).
