Light industry is one of the main sectors of Lithuanian economy dramatically influencing its (JDP growth and employment trends. Subsequently, the enhancement of competitiveness of industry with regards to Lithuania's integration into the common economic space of the European Union and general trends of globalization can be considered as an important priority for the further growth of the country's economy from this point, solution of problems related to enhancement of competitiveness industry in Lithuania can be seen as a relevant direction for scientific research. Enhancement of competitiveness requires efficient strategies to be developed and implemented both on the country scale and instantly within the enterprises of industry and smaller groups inside them. Absence of enhancement of adequate strategies to the situation of European Union and global markets or lack of objective or method justification manifest as a serious critical issue for the modern business of Lithuania. In order to solve this problem, the scientific research should be initiated to enhance competitiveness of Lithuanian industry. Priorities for strategies designed to enhance competitiveness - clusterisation and export encouragement. The paper provides a detailed description of possibilities for creation of the light industry cluster in Lithuania.
