Paper deals with the topic of intercultural influences over formation of tango music and dance in general and tango musical lyric in particular. The author shows how various cultural influences contributed to the process of development of tango lyric. The author unveils such an intercultural influences as afro-Argentinians, of Argentinian gauchos, compadres and compadritos and finally of immigrants from various European countries, particularly Italy. Two different opinions about importance of arfo-Argentinian influences on the process of formation of tango music and dance are presented and analyzed. Then influence of gauchesque tradition is unveiled and its connotations from such topics, popular in tango lyric as proud, conflicts and knife fights are unveiled. Finally Italian influence into the process of sentimentalization of tango lyric is analyzed.
