Abstract (en)
Present research aims at deriving average stress-average strain tension-stiffening law conforming to the Chinese design code GB 50010-2002 of reinforced concrete members. Using the inverse technique proposed by the authors, tension-stiffening relationships were derived from moment-curvature diagrams calculated by the code provisions. A simple two parameter tension-stiffening model was proposed and statistically verified. The derived tension-stiffening laws were applied in the numerical study using the nonlinear finite element software ATENA.
