With the recent increase of the fire and rescue functions the Lithuania fire fighters have had to endure much higher physical and psychological obligations in fighting for people's welfare and even a human life. The Fire Department has been commissioned to undertake all rescue functions in order to further continue the militarization of the fire brigades, install automatic smoke detectors in the new buildings, establish lightning conductors in the village areas and pay particular attention to fixing improper installations.
