Abstract (en)

The more we know our students - the better we can organise study process, the better quality of studies we can achieve. Quality of studies is a multidimensional and complex phenomenon, influenced by wide range of factors: from chsrscteristics of labour market and current educational policy to individual students' characteristics. In this paper motives of choosing maritime profession, gender of students, experience in studies as characteristics of an individual person were under investigation, having in mind their influence to the quality of studies.It was discovered , that way of financing of studies influences study quality as well. The results of quantitative research, performed in Lithuanian Maritime Academy in 2010-2011, are presented in this paper.
